Send a Notion template through Instagram DMs

A walkthrough of your content dashboard makes people want the system itself. An incoming NOTION DM can return the public template page so they can copy the structure into their own workspace.

   Prepare the destination

   Prepare a clean template without private notes, customer details, or workspace-only links. Publish the page with the sharing and duplication options your Notion account provides. Test every linked database and instruction using another workspace.

   Connect Instagram and create a Spark

   Sign in to DM Spark on the web and connect your Instagram Business or Creator account through Instagram’s login. From the dashboard, choose Create Spark, select the correct connected account, and give it a name that identifies the resource and campaign.

   Choose the trigger and scope

   Under When someone…, choose “sends you a DM”. This keyword applies to incoming DMs on the connected account. Keep it distinct from other active DM-keyword Sparks.

   Add NOTION as the keyword

   Add NOTION in the keywords field. Use the Keywords in the message field. Use the same word in your public invitation and avoid overlapping active keyword Sparks.

   Write the DM and add the link button

   Under Then, in their DMs, choose One message. Use this delivery text: “Here’s the content-planning dashboard. Open the template page and follow the instructions to duplicate it into your workspace.” Add a link button labeled “Get Notion template” and paste your destination URL. Link to a public duplication page for a free template or to your product page for a paid one. Check the message and button in the phone preview.

   Save, go live, and test

   Save the Spark and check that it is Live; if it is a draft or paused, choose Go live and complete any post selection. Send NOTION from a second Instagram account, then duplicate the template into a separate workspace and check the linked databases work.

   Publish the invitation and check results

   Add the example invitation below to your caption or profile once the test works. Review messages sent, people reached, and link clicks on the Spark. Use the destination platform’s reports to check outcomes beyond link clicks.

A public top-level page can still contain inaccessible linked pages or databases. Test the entire template from another workspace. Keep NOTION tied to one offer across incoming DMs; use different keywords if you have several active template promotions.

This walkthrough uses One message to deliver the requested link directly. Ask, then send is also available on Free if you want an opening button before the link. Each outgoing DM counts toward your allowance.

On the Creator plan, a sequence can add email capture or an eligible reminder. For comment triggers, the person must tap or reply before another DM can be sent; clicking a website link alone does not count as that reply.
