Send beauty product links through Instagram DMs
Deliver the products and shades from a beauty tutorial.
Updated

Quick answer
To send beauty product links through Instagram DMs, connect your Instagram Business or Creator account to DM Spark, create a post-comment Spark for ROUTINE, and send a message with a link button. Send a product-list page or up to three product links; purchases happen outside DM Spark.
When to use this automation
A skincare or makeup tutorial can feature more products than a viewer can identify on screen. Send a product list in tutorial order so the person can find the cleanser, serum, or brush you actually used.
- TriggerA keyword comment on the selected Instagram post or reel.
- KeywordROUTINE
- DeliverySend a product-list page or up to three product links; purchases happen outside DM Spark.
How to set it up in DM Spark
Prepare the destination
Create a routine page with product names, order of use, shade details where relevant, and any affiliate context. If the tutorial has only a few products, you can use up to three direct link buttons instead. Keep the page tied to the specific video.
Connect Instagram and create a Spark
Sign in to DM Spark on the web and connect your Instagram Business or Creator account through Instagram’s login. From the dashboard, choose Create Spark, select the correct connected account, and give it a name that identifies the resource and campaign.
Choose the trigger and scope
Under When someone…, choose “comments on your posts”. Select only the post or reel promoting this resource. Leave Every post, including future posts off when other posts offer different resources.
Add ROUTINE as the keyword
Add ROUTINE in the keywords field. Choose With keywords rather than Every comment so unrelated replies do not receive this offer. Use the same word in your public invitation and avoid overlapping active keyword Sparks.
Write the DM and add the link button
Under Then, in their DMs, choose One message. Use this delivery text: “Here’s the product list in the order I used it, including the shades from the tutorial. Some links are affiliate links.” Add a link button labeled “See the products” and paste your destination URL. Send a product-list page or up to three product links; purchases happen outside DM Spark. Check the message and button in the phone preview.
Save, go live, and test
Save the Spark and check that it is Live; if it is a draft or paused, choose Go live and complete any post selection. Comment ROUTINE from another account and check the destination includes the correct tutorial, product order, and shade names. Your own connected account’s comments do not trigger the Spark.
Publish the invitation and check results
Add the example invitation below to your caption and on-screen text once the test works. Review messages sent, people reached, and link clicks on the Spark. Use the destination platform’s reports to check outcomes beyond link clicks.
Caption and DM copy you can use
Adapt these examples to the resource you actually offer. Replace the example destination with your own tested URL in the link-button field.
- Caption invitationComment ROUTINE for the full product list from this makeup tutorial. Some links are affiliate links.
- Automatic DMHere’s the product list in the order I used it, including the shades from the tutorial. Some links are affiliate links.

What to check before promoting it
This automation supplies your configured list; it does not evaluate a person’s skin or choose shades for them. Keep the message tied to the demonstration and handle individual suitability questions through your usual process.
Comment ROUTINE from another account and check the destination includes the correct tutorial, product order, and shade names.
Choose a simple delivery or an optional sequence
This walkthrough uses One message to deliver the requested link directly. Ask, then send is also available on Free if you want an opening button before the link. Each outgoing DM counts toward your allowance.
On the Creator plan, a sequence can add email capture or an eligible reminder. For comment triggers, the person must tap or reply before another DM can be sent; clicking a website link alone does not count as that reply. Later messages must stay within Instagram’s allowed messaging window. See the Spark setup guide and email capture guide before adding those steps.
Questions
Can I use one keyword for multiple tutorials?
Yes, when each tutorial has its own post-specific Spark. If the resource is different, do not attach one list to every post.
Can I send more than three product links?
A message has up to three link buttons. For a longer routine, link to one page that lists all the products.
Can I set this up on DM Spark Free?
Yes. This setup uses One message, available on Free with 500 messages per calendar month and one connected account. The Creator plan adds custom sequences and email capture, with 25,000 included messages per billing period.
Why did my test not send a DM?
Check that the Spark is Live, Instagram is connected, the keyword is saved, and you have messages remaining. Use a new comment on a selected post from a second account; your own connected account’s comments do not trigger it. Check the Spark’s status for a connection or delivery issue before repeating the test.
